News

Ian McCormack at The Filling Station

Ian was night diving off the island of Mauritius when he was stung multiple times by Box Jellyfish, which are among the most venomous creatures in the world. Ian is not 100% sure which species of Box Jelllyfish stung him as it has been very hard to find information from Mauritius on them. Ian suffered as a child from allergies and had to take antihistamines on a regular basis as even a mosquito bite would cause him to swell up, so his reaction to these jellyfish stings was very bad. His testimony relates how he clung to life while getting to hospital, was declared clinically dead soon afterwards, and how during this time he had an encounter with God, which radically changed the direction of his life.

He has written a book entitled 'A Glimpse of Eternity' telling of his death and aftermath.  There are also plans for a film being produced called 'The Perfect Wave'.

Ian is married to Jane and in 2009 they helped plant a new Church in London, The Kings Gate Christian Fellowship, opposite the Natual History Museum.

Ian travels all over the world with his message.  In September alone he has been to France, Italy and Box!  From Box Ian went to the USA and Wisconsin Rapids.

Ian has a very powerful message.  We were indeed blessed that he was able to come to Box on 27th September.
